After a long wait I finally received the photo-etched grilles for my Hurg from Graham Poulton in the U.K.. They were well worth the wait though and I am very pleased with them indeed, in fact I think they look bloody great! Thanks a lot Graham. Now the Hurg is finally complete. Well actually I still need to repaint the driver in the proper colours, and I really should make the proper period helmet with the full face visor, I also need to re-attach the rear view mirror BUT apart from those little things it's done and now I'm going to move on to other projects.
I've decided I want to create a set of cars that might have been seen at events like Dundrod in the early-mid '50's, and so to that end I'm going to begin carving the next car soon.
In the meantime here are some photos of the Hurg grille, and how it looks on the front of the car. I've posed it next to my SMEC Jaguar XK120, which is fitting as of course the Hurg too was originally a SMEC creation:
